what kind of lighting do you use? i think they're really different, i haven't really seen this type of night photography. are some of those double exposure, the ones with your shadows? i especially love the tree ones. some of the shots look like a movie set or something because of the lighting. the only thing i would like to see is more close up stuff. oh, the grass one is very cool too. keep it up!!

also, your artist statement sounds excellent...i completely understand your point and what you are trying to "convey" with your work.

...the lighting is with a flash and a small amount of flashlight. no double exposures. I set my camera to bulb and keep it open with a shutter release cable allowing me to wander out into the dark landscape where I just pop the flash here and there (and occasionally highlight something with my flashlight). thanks for reading my artist statement! and thanks for the comments!

Some of those are cool, I like the last couple, the swamp looking trees, and the shadow one.

Really interesting. I like your use of artificial lighting in a natural setting. The contradiction creates an interesting mood. I also like how you hide the human form (whether it be yours or someone elses) in some of the photos, as if humans are shadows in nature. Your photos have a real dream like quality to them. Like the camera lense is a little elf looking into an alien world. Two thumbs up from me!

thanks ladygrace :-) I really like the way you described the human form...i've been trying to put my thumb on just how to say it and I think you nailed it. and yea, that's me in all the photos...alone out in the woods somewhere!
